Help with goDaddy web hosting. How do I get rid of the banner?

As long as you are using godaddy%26#039;s free webhosting service that banner will always be there. You could choose a different webhosting company or go with godaddy%26#039;s hosting.

I suggest you go with godaddy because it will be more simple for you. Their basic %26#039;economy%26#039; package is all you will need, it%26#039;s only $4/month.

You got a nice domain name, good job :)

Help with goDaddy web hosting. How do I get rid of the banner?

that%26#039;s what you got when you are not checking the term for a free host. is not wrong to go for free host but get one that won%26#039;t put any force ads your site. if you want my recommendation on free host check out my site web host.

Other Replys:Should you use an HTML editor to revise your home.html file, there%26#039;s a piece of script referred to as Godaddy ads which can be removed and thus eliminate the godaddy banner. Unfortunately, you may not have the right to FTP the revised home.html onto godaddy%26#039;s server since you are using their template which is not revisable or updateable. You would do better to generate your own website as a homepage and link it to a domain name using godaddy%26#039;s forwarding/with masking option.,

Good luck!

Other Replys:You have confused WebSite Tonight with Hosting.

WebSite Tonight includes hosting, but also helps you build your website files.

You will need to purchase an upgrade to get rid of the banner. Call in, they are 24-7, and someone can help you decide if you want WebSite Tonight or just regular hosting.

GoDaddy also has a custom Web Site team where they will design the site for you. They have great service.

Wats the differece between buying a domain name and purchasing a web host?

i dnt understand wat im buying....which will will let me edit the web page to ?

Wats the differece between buying a domain name and purchasing a web host?

Buying a domain name, just gives you exclusive ownership of that name. Like www.RobertG.com. It doesn%26#039;d do too much good to own the domain name if you don%26#039;t have a website place for it. That%26#039;s what a web host does. I use GoDaddy (for seven years). First you can see if a domain name is already take, then you can buy it through GoDaddy. Then you can purchase hosting service through GoDaddy. So that you have a server for your web site.

Wats the differece between buying a domain name and purchasing a web host?

A domain name is just a name that people can type into a browser.

For example, yahoo.com is a domain name. No one but Yahoo gets to use this without their permission, as they have registered the domain.

A web host gives you access to a web server (or servers) that can host your website. This is what sends files to people when they go to your website.

In order for people to be able to type in a name into an Internet browser and see your website, you will need all of the above.

Other Replys:The Domain name is the actual URL that you would type in to reach your site...www.yahoo.com is a domain.

The Web host is somone that will %26#039;host%26#039; your website, in other words a company that allows you to purchase disc space on their server to place your website on.

Other Replys:You need domain name like www.yourname.com firstly. Then you will need webhosting to publish webpages of your domain.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They offer hosting of %26quot;unlimited domains%26quot; and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer %26quot;a free Domain Name%26quot; and installing service called %26quot;Fantastico%26quot;. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer %26quot;Free Website Builder%26quot; as well.

What do I need for web hosting?

My first 1 - 6 months will probably be slow, but I%26#039;m making a website for shopping. It will have A LOT of pages. Every product will have a page, just like at amazon.com, or shop.com - how much bandwith, and free space do I need to do such a website?

What do I need for web hosting?

Ryan, you can always try basic web hosting package from websites like http://aplis.net/ , in case traffic increases drastically, you can upgrade web hosting, at maximum you can buy a dedicated server for hosting your website.

What do I need for web hosting?

You will need about 5gig or more for your storage. It depends on how much storage space you will be using. Start hosting your site with hosting company first and you can increase your storage as your site grow

Other Replys:It really depends on how you write the back end.

If you code smartly using caching your websites use of bandwidth is greatly brought down.

If you are aiming at an audience that is as large as Amazon or Shop.com then I would invest some money into media temple. They host a whole slew of really big clients.

They are expensive but the load balanced servers and shell access and other essentials for running your own server are great.

If you are just starting out and if you don%26#039;t really know how big your customer base will be, try shared hosting. Its very econimcal low priced and some even offer a lot of bandwidth.

I personally use http://www.powweb.com

$5.77/a month

绂?300 GB Disk Space

绂?3000 GB/mo Bandwidth

绂?FREE Domain Name

绂?Unlimited Mailboxes

绂?75 MySQL Databases

绂?Unlimited Web Site Hosting

Which is plenty for starting out.

Good Luck.

Other Replys:I assume you won%26#039;t have traffic comparable to that of Amazon.com. I think something like Bluehost would be fine, especially during the period prior to making the jump to your own private servers.

20+ gigs of space and 10 gigs + bandwith should be fine.

What is a good merchant shopping cart that will except my items from my web page forms?

I have a website that has a bunch of items on a %26lt;form%26gt; and I%26#039;ve seen shopping carts that sites host where on your form action you type in their web address so when someone adds to cart their form on their site collects the data from your site and then adds it on their site, and accepts the payment right there, then deposits it to your account. Does anyone know of some good ones like this?

What is a good merchant shopping cart that will except my items from my web page forms?

Oscommerce

Actually it%26#039;s a full e-commerce solution (free) with catalog and shopping cart and multiple check-out methods. You could use PayPal for instance, until you get your own merchant account.

If you can%26#039;t deal with figuring out how to install a full featured (free) e-commerce application, then go to PayPal.com and use their simple plugins. Report It

Why won't my links work on my web page? my home page opens, but when i click on the links, they

i uploaded the pages the links go to in the server, did i upload them to the wrong place? i know the code and location is right, they just wont work. its the same with images, i had to host all of the images on photobucket for them to show up on the index page.

Why won%26#039;t my links work on my web page? my home page opens, but when i click on the links, they dont work?

okay open up your html document

a normal photobucket html code is this

%26lt;a href=%26quot;IMAGE URL HERE%26quot; target=%26quot;_blank%26quot;%26gt;%26lt;img src=%26quot;IMAGE URL HERE%26quot; border=%26quot;0%26quot; alt=%26quot;%26quot;%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;

we need to change it to the link url, and on target = self (it will load the page in the same window)

%26lt;a href=%26quot;INSERT LINK URL HERE%26quot; target=%26quot;_self%26quot;%26gt;%26lt;img src=%26quot;IMAGE URL HERE%26quot; border=%26quot;0%26quot; alt=%26quot;%26quot;%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;

Creating a new business web page, potentially will have greater than 1000 links. Full questions belo

A) How much storage space should I ask the Host agent for, when my site will (I hope) be a high traffic site?

B) Besides an URL, what other traps should I look out for when creating a page that potentially will get hundreds of views a day?

C) Start up Budget $1000 in short term.

Creating a new business web page, potentially will have greater than 1000 links. Full questions below?

It depends on how big your site is in megabytes. You can go to Windows Explorer and right click on the folder containing your site when you click on %26quot;Properties%26quot;. Get hosting for twice that (rule of thumb) because you need space for the hits log and emails. Hundreds of views a day is not a big deal - you shouldn%26#039;t have problems. Hosts measure capacity two ways: Disk space, which the answer above applies to, and bandwidth, which is how much stuff gets downloaded from your site. Bandwidth is often ten times disk space, but it%26#039;s very hard to say how much you will need. Probably a lot less than you think. Start with a modest hosting plan. They will let you know if/when you exceed the capacities you signed up for and give you a chance to upgrade to higher capacity plan. I%26#039;m not sure what you mean by the $1,000 budget. Hosting (and registration) accounts charge by the month/year. The whole thing should come in at $40 $100 per year.

www.1and1.com

www.hostsave.com

www.hostway.com

www.siteflip.com

Creating a new business web page, potentially will have greater than 1000 links. Full questions below?

a) Storage space depends on how big the site is, not the traffic. Traffic allowance is more important if you really get high traffic. Then you take the size of the page X the number of hits (you have to count each page and each load separately) and you will see how much traffic you need. Give yourself a lot of room.

b) register the domain yourself on godaddy.com If you get a package from someone then you will probably have issues if you ever decide to transfer it.

c) That is enough only if you know how to create the page and do the search engines yourself. Then you would even have enough to do some paid advertising. It takes hours to put together a site and anyone that knows what they are doing is $50 an hour. I spend about 40 hours on a new site myself to get everything done and registered with the search engines and so on.

Other Replys:A) This is actually two different variables... (1) the actual disk space where your files are stored, and (2) the amount of bandwidth that you%26#039;ll need. It will depend primarily on how many graphics images you have on those pages, and how well they%26#039;ve been optimized to reduce the file size.

B) Look for a web host that will (1) warn you if you%26#039;re exceeding your allotment, and (2) give you an option to quickly and easily upgrade your account should you need to do so. A reputation for fast and helpful tech support helps too.

C) Are we talking strictly the web hosting budget? Or the web design project as well? If the latter, I highly recommend listing a description of what you need done on Rent-a-Coder (it%26#039;s free). Then when the bids start rolling in, you%26#039;ll be able to pin down how much it will cost.

Other Replys:www.vodahost.com unlimited everything for 9.95 a month or 7.95 a month with full year payoff upfront... that one is much better....

Carla

Other Replys:A properly designed webpage has maybe 7 links TOTAL, otherwise, people are just going to get lost. I have 5 pages in my companies webpage, and my budget was $500 (which I exceeded). Storage space should not be an issue, because the server doesn%26#039;t store anything from your visitors, it just stores the pages.
